France – Carolingian (719-987) – Pepin le Bref (the Short) (751-768) – Denarius, “Maastricht” subscribed (754-768) (Depeyrot 540 / Vanhoudt E2) 17mm – 1.23 gram – Obv. RP (Rex Pippinus) above a line, in the centre a point, surrounded by pearls / Rev. rose with four leaves, point in centre, between the leaves three point. Traces of outer circle of beads – XF – RRRR.
